engineering and environmental assessment
materials for the Tysons Tunnel can be
completed by December 2006 — ready
for public, competitive bidding side-by-side
with the Elevated Rail and for public
review.
Elected officials all prefer the Tysons
Tunnel. Some expressed timing and cost
concerns.
Implementing the Declaration
of Tunnel Action will address their stated concerns,
assure the best use of our public money,
compete the Elevated Rail and Tysons Tunnel
in side-by-side bid pricing, and produce
a better result for our community. These
are the common sense actions we expect
from our elected leaders.
